Full length side view of the galaxy ESO 121-6

ESO 121-6

Hubble telescope has captured the brilliant full length side-on view of the spiral galaxy ESO 121-6 with an intense glow in the central bulge showing a dense region of closed stars.

The picture of galaxy also shows thin, glittering streak of stars and prominent brightest stars at the bottom left of the image. The tendrils of dark dust can also be seen in the galaxy.

ESO 121-6 is located in the southern constellation of Pictor (The Painter’s Easel). It actually belongs to the group of galaxies with about 50 similar structures joined together by gravity. (Our Milky Way is also a member of the galactic group known as the Local Group).
