Microsoft has announced its own surface tablet computers

Microsoft has announced its own surface tablets today. These tablets are based on Windows RT and Windows 8, and have been designed by Microsoft itself.

These new tablets are thin and light in weight with two cameras. Moreover, they come with a full-multi-touch keyboard and a modern trackpad that also acts as a cover and a pull-out kickstand to make it stand some degrees to vertical position like that in other laptops.

Microsoft has revealed two models; one with Windows RT (ARM processor) and the other is operated on Windows 8 Pro (Intel processor, backward compatible with Windows 7 applications). These new tablets come in the size of 9.3 and 13.5mm for Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro model respectively. Windows RT model has 10.6 inch 16:9 touchscreen with a 720p or 1080p pixel resolution and runs on NVIDIA processor. The Pro version has Intel Ivy Bridge processors and come with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

The touch cover comes in two models; one is 3mm thick and the other is slightly thicker. It has a built-in accelerometer to make its use as a keyboard or make it to use as a cover. It connects with the tablet via Bluetooth.
