Nokia Lumia 900 is thought to be the biggest thing in this time of smartphones. It will be available through AT&T stores from Sunday for $99.99 with a two years contract.

[hana-code-insert name=’StumbleUpon’ /][hana-code-insert name=’Reddit’ /]The phone comes with a 4.3 inch display, 4G Long-term evolution (LTE) network and operated on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5, known as “Mango”.

Although, the Windows operated smartphones comprise a small portion of the phone market but Forrester analyst Sarah Rotman Epps said in a blog post that “Nokia and Microsoft have done many things right: They’ve built a great product.” She has also given suggestions to make BlackBerry phones to be Windows operated phones.

“Overall, I consider the Lumia 900 a mixed bag,” Walt Mossberg of The Wall Street Journal wrote. “Unless you are a big Windows Phone fan, or don’t want to spend more than $100 upfront, I can’t recommend the Lumia 900 over the iPhone 4S or a first-rate Android phone like Samsung’s Galaxy S II series.”

“The Lumia 900 has a unique, attractive design—especially in cyan and white. Performance is snappy, and the OS is a pleasure to use. Microsoft’s challenge is to get consumers to, one, realize that Windows Phones are a real alternative to an iPhone or Android phone and, two, look past the gap in total number of apps and buy a Windows Phone anyway,” Current Analysis analyst Avi Greengart told eWEEK.

“AT&T and Nokia are certainly planning to make a big advertising splash, which should raise awareness. It is not clear yet whether the ads will be effective enough to push consumers to buy in large numbers,” he added. “One thing is clear, though—people who do buy the Lumia 900 should be happy with it.”
