Over 3 billion apps have been downloaded from BlackBerry App World

Three billion apps have been downloaded for BlackBerry smartphone and PlayBook from the App World of BlackBerry, since its launch. At this time, there are 90,000 apps “up for sale” through the mobile app market as compared to 70,000 in April. The company has “ten of thousands” of developers and over 28,000 BlackBerry App World vendors and the BlackBerry App World storefront team. Read more…

RIM has not to use BBX mark in Asian conference as ruled by Court

BBXResearch In Motion Ltd. (RIM) has been prohibited to make use of Basis International Ltd.’s “BBX” trademark at an industry conference in Asia that starts today i.e. DevCon conference in Singapore being held today and tomorrow.

This decision has been made by U.S. District Judge William P. Johnson in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Johnson wrote in the ruling that consumers are “likely to be confused by RIM’s use of BBX in connection with RIM’s goods and services,” as software developers will attend the conference and among those would be the users of Basis’ BBX software.

Apple product users are more loyal as compared to other companies

Apple logo (3D)Apple users showed more brand loyalty as compared to other companies.

In a research by GfK, almost 84% of iPhone users said that they if they have to replace the phone they will replace their device with the same cell phone. On the other hand, 60% of users of smartphones with Google’s Android operating system don’t want to change their phones and 48% of users of cellphones by Research In Motion don’t want to change their devices.

GfK worked on loyalty across nine different countries i.e. Brazil, China, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Spain, UK and the US. Read more…
