This November is the 15th annual National Novel Writing month (NaNoWriMo). NaNoWriMo is an internet based creative writing project.

The goal of the project is to write 50,000-word novel in just 30 days, i.e. from November 1st to November 30th, without worrying about the writing that could be bad or good. Participants, who will upload their stories will be eligible to win $2,000 along with the relationship with millions of other writers.

This project is free to join. The writers have to go to the project’s website, where they can post profiles and information about their novels, including synopsis and excerpts. At the time of writing this article, there were over 210,000 novelists on the project.

Writing Resources:

If you are taking part in this program, here are some of the writing resources to enhance your productivity, creativity and/or writing power:

You can take an idea of what to write from these “25 Creative Writing Prompts” presented here: http://www.writingforward.com/writing-prompts/creative-writing-prompts/25-creative-writing-prompts?_nospa=true or you can also generate an idea of writing using this link http://www.sff.net/people/Julia.West/CALLIHOO/dtbb/ideagen3.htm.

You can also get inspiration from short real life stories presented here: http://makesmethink.com/

I have another idea. Why not write a novel with the maximally creative use of interjections presented here: http://www.dailywritingtips.com/100-mostly-small-but-expressive-interjections/

You can generate the fake name and identity of your characters to be used in the novel here: http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/ or here: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/tool.aspx?x=dnd/4new/tool/cng

If you have already written something and want to check the writer whose writing matches to yours go to this source: http://iwl.me/

You can also use a writing program such as “yWriter” to write novels more productively. It is available free of charge. You can get one here: http://ywriter.en.softonic.com/. Among the other free writing programs is “Celtx” (http://celtx.en.softonic.com/).
