Google is launching the newer version of Google Glass that can be called as Google Glass 2. The current Google Glass users, called as “Glass Explorers” will be able to “swap out” to the newer version later this year. It would be a “one-time option” as reported by Google.

This new version will come with the ability to be used by the people, who are already wearing glasses via “future lines of shades and prescription frames.” The second edition will also include a mono ear bud.

“In addition, we’ve been experimenting with ways to expand the Explorer Program and it’s been going really well. So over the next few weeks, all Explorers will have the opportunity to invite three friends to join the program. They’ll be able to buy Glass online and can have it shipped to their home, office, treehouse or igloo,” From Google Glass.

You can see the updates to the Glass software via regular #glassupdates.
