HP CEO Meg Whitman said in an event in Bangkok that the company is planning to enter the market as soon as mid-2014.

“We are excited about 3D printing. We want to lead this businesses. HP labs is looking at it,” she said.

Interestingly, HP has already entered the 3D market as shown by the company’s TopShot Laserjet printer that was able to scan 3D objects placed on top of it.

“3D printing is in its infancy” she said. “It is a big opportunity and we are all over it. We will have something by the middle of next year.”
