Apple Inc. becomes the best Global Brand of 2013. Google and Coca Cola are at 2nd and 3rd position respectively, as reported by marketing firm Interbrand.
Apple is this year’s best global brand and Coca Cola moved to the third position after about 13-years’ constant 1st position. Google took the second position this year.
This year technological companies took six of the top 10 brands. After Apple and Google, there are IBM (#4), Microsoft (#5), Samsung (#8) and Intel (#9).
Among the other top tech brands Facebook – only social media on the list – raised its brand value by about 43%. On the other hand, Yahoo and Blackberry fallen off this year’s list.
The total value of all 100 Best Global Brands is USD $1.5 trillion.
“Every so often, a company changes our lives—not just with its products, but with its ethos. This is why, following Coca-Cola’s 13-year run at the top of Best Global Brands, Apple now ranks #1,” said Jez Frampton, Interbrand’s Global Chief Executive Officer. “Tim Cook has assembled a solid leadership team and has kept Steve Jobs’ vision intact – a vision that has allowed Apple to deliver on its promise of innovation time and time again.”
