Brett Ratner, Director of the famous Rush Hour series, is planning to bring hugely popular Zynga’s FarmVille on TV, not in the form of game but in the form of half-hour animated series, as reported by Barbara Chai of The Wall Street Journal.
This time Ratner will serve as an executive producer, along with Kirk Schenck, Charles Bishop and Nina Gelb, and will work with Canadian television production company Six Eleven Media.
“FarmVille is one of the most exciting brands out there today and its cross-platform opportunities are endless,” Ratner said in a statement. “I am thrilled to be expanding the brand with existing fans and also engaging a whole new audience.”
Rumors of FarmVille movie are also there, with Toy Story writers Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow rumored to scribe the film as of 2011.
On February 6th, the report of animated cartoons of another hugely popular game “Angry Birds” also came.
Both of these animations have not been found to be related to any TV channel yet.
