Google and Lenovo’s new Chromebook

Lenovo Thinkpad Chromebook (Credit: Google)Lenovo, a Chinese multinational electronics company, has announced a Chrombook, i.e. ThinkPad X131e Chromebook.

This Chromebook is operating on Chrome OS with a strong and resilient design for the school environment. It has “a rubber bumper around the top cover, stronger corners, reinforced hinges and hinge brackets, and a high definition (HD) LED anti-glare screen”. It has 11.6’’ (1366×768) display and 3.9 lbs / 1.8 kg of weight. It has 16 GB of solid state drive, 2x USB 3.0 while 1x USB 2.0, 1x HDMI Port and 1x VGA Port.

It has an average battery life of 6.5 hours depending on usage and the latest generation of Intel Celeron processor. It comes with built-in security, automatic updates and Google Apps for Education.

The new Lenovo ThinkPad X131e Chromebook will be available from the next month for $429 in the United States and one time cost of $30 per device for management and support from Google.
