Lenovo introduces multi-touch screen table computer
Lenovo, Chinese computer manufacturer, has introduced a giant touchscreen Table PC with a 27 inch screen having 17.8 pounds of weight. It is called as IdeaCentre Horizon.
This computer can be used as an “interactive table” or as a conventional PC. This computer has been introduced by the company at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Sunday.
This computer table is about the size of a coffee table and allows four people to work at a time on the table. It works on Windows 8. According to Lenovo, the table PC will be available by early summer at a starting price of $1,699.
“Horizon makes personal computing interpersonal computing with shared, collaborative experiences among several people,” said Peter Hortensius, president of Lenovo’s product group, in a company press release.
“Now many people can enjoy different photos, music and video on the same screen, and they can play games with our special accessories that blend physical and digital interaction” he said.
The Table PC comes with plastic “strikers” for “Air Hockey” and joysticks that attach with the screen with suction cups for other games.
It runs on NVIDIA GeForce graphics as well as ‘heart-pounding’ Dolby Home Theater v4 audio, as said by Hortensius. It has two hours of battery life, when not connected to a wall-socket.
“Horizon reflects our commitment to delivering the innovative products that define the PC Plus era.” Hortensius said.
