Alienware has announced Console-like Alienware X51 Desktop
Dell’s Alienware division has launched the Alienware X51, the latest desktop gaming PC, which can be placed vertically or horizontally.
“The community has asked for a more efficient gaming system for quite a while now,” Dell’s John Blain wrote in a blog post Tuesday night. “Gamers crave a system that delivers the Alienware experience in a smaller and more versatile form factor to meet the needs of today’s different environments – from the dorm room to the game room (I mean “office”), or wherever else gaming can be enjoyed. We want a system that is versatile enough for both work and play, but most of all, we want the experience to be as accessible as possible.”
Alienware X51 has dimensions of 14.5 x 12.52 x 3.74 inches and can be equipped with Intel Core i3 dualcore or i5/i7 quadcore processors along with either NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 545 1GB graphics or GeForce GTX 555 1GB.
There is a place for DVD burner, which can drive Blu-ray discs too. There is 1TB 7,200rpm HDD with a spare place for up to 8GB of DDR3 memory on Mini-ITX motherboard.
Connectivity includes gigabit ethernet along with WiFi a/b/g/n, six USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, audio in/out, HDMI 1.4, a pair of digital audio ports (optical and coax) and standard analog audio. The dinky desktop is supplied with a 250W PSU as standard, but those keen to overclock the X51 can specify a 330W PSU instead.
The system can be easily upgraded.
The Alienware is directly available from the Dell Store at the price of $699 giving you a Core i3 chip and 4GB of memory.
