Acer is going not to move out of Tablet market
Acer, computer and tablet manufacturer, is not leaving the tablet and smartphone market regardless of the initial setbacks as announced by the Acer’s founder, Stan Shih, to deny the rumors, which were circulating in the news. However, the company’s board of directors has consented to focus on more profitable products.
The company had announced previously that it would cut 2/3 of its products line in 2012. Acer is not going to downsize staff related to smartphones and tablets either.
Shih explained that by “considering the much overlapped development of tablet PC and smartphones, a simplified organization is expected to increase operation efficiency, reduce conflicts in product development and consolidate resources for developing niche and competitive products.”
