Intel has plans to support small companies to manufacture Ultrabooks
Intel has plans to support small companies for the production of Ultrabooks and in this respect, it will organize a meeting between several major original design manufacturers (ODMs) in Taipei on Wednesday this week. Companies including Foxconn, Quanta, Pegatron, Compal and other small companies will be there.
The agenda of the meeting is to give helping hand to the smaller companies, who are interested in entering into notebook market, such as Viewsonic, Onkyo, Epson, WiPro, Motion Computing, Mustek and Positivo. Many of these smaller companies have no apparent support to do innovations in the Ultrabook market.
Fund will be invested over the next 3-4 years, so that innovative products would come with prices between $699-$799.
Intel announces a $300 million Ultrabook market development fund, earlier this year, to speed up the development and decrease the costs.
