Audi goals for becoming a market leader in Luxury Car making
Audi India is the third major manufacturer of Luxury cars with a goal of becoming the first in this market by 2014 in India. This market is lead by BMW, which is followed by Mercedes Benz. The company has aims of becoming the world leader in luxury car making by 2015.
Only just, Volkswagen Group owned Audi surpassed the sales of Daimler AG’s Mercedes Benz and achieved the second position.
In this regard, Audi has started working hard in design changes and has hired two design firms of Germany. Stefan Sielaff who will head Audi AQR said, “We know that some people think our saloons look too alike and are well into a project to change that we will mainly do that with the proportions of those cars. And it will mean differences.”
Audi looks forward to design specialist CSI Unternehmensgruppe and PSW Automotive Engineering GmbH. The company has plans to purchase 41% stake in CSI Unternehmensgruppe, which has also worked for Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz and Porsche AG.
CSI, founded in 1995, specializes in developing interior and exterior modules for carmakers including Porsche AG and Daimler AG (DAI)’s Mercedes-Benz. The company employs 250 workers at eight German sites including Ingolstadt, where Audi is based, and Wolfsburg, the corporate headquarters of VW.
According to the reports of Bloomberg, Audi has a target to sell 2 million vehicles per year by 2020.
