Kindle fire is 20 folds stiffer and 30 folds harder than plastic. This makes it resistant to accidental scratches and bumps. It weighs about 14.6 ounces (413 grams) and having dimensions of 7.5″ x 4.7″ x 0.45″ (190 mm x 120 mm x 11.4 mm). It has an 8GB of storage.

Kindle Fire has 16 million colors in high resolution using IPS (in-plane switching) technology, as that used in iPad, to solve the limitation of small viewing angles and low quality color reproduction.

Amazon has given access, through Kindle Fire, to about 18 million contents like movies, magazines, TV shows, apps, games and books. There is free cloud storage for Amazon contents.
