Nokia phones with Microsoft Windows operating system

Stephen Elop, Nokia Cheif Executive, has announced the plan to launch Smart Phones having Microsoft Windows as operating system.

Elop has annuonced that Windows operating Nokia will be launched late in this year. This has been announced in an international communications and information technology exhibition and conference held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in Singapore. This phone will be delivered in bulk in 2012.

He said that 2011 and 2012 will be the transition years for the Nokia as the company is charting out the plans to move Nokia handsets from symbians to Windows. It has also been revealed by Executive that Microsoft will pay billions of dollars to Nokia for transitions. Nokia shares have cut down to half from 40.6 percent a year ago to 20.2 percent in the March quarter.

Another point is also in the news that this transitional period could result in big gains for Apple’s iPhones and other competitors such as Research in Motion’s Blackberry.
