Facebook was working on the App for more than a year and, after step by step changes, it is now in final stages. Mark Zuckerberg, Company’s chief executive and founder, has been heavily investing in the process, overseeing design decisions and preparations of unique features such as this App will allow users to upload photos and videos directly from the iPad’s built-in cameras.
Dubbed Project Spartan, the new platform will be HTML5-based and aimed at iOS devices like the iPad and iPhone, according to a TechCrunch report.
According to the company, Facebook has more than 250 million Facebook users actively accessing Facebook through mobile devices and Apple has sold more than 25 million iPads since the device was introduced last year.
Previously there were some facebook friendly applications, like iFace and My Pad, from the outsiders.
